Most people nowadays will search for major items of tackle by scanning through magazines such as Trout Fisherman or Trout and Salmon; or they google a word like "waders" and up pops a list of retailers who have these on offer. It is big business. There are so many good internet outlets now that it is difficult to recommend any ones in particular. You find your own favourites and tend to stick with them.
We will recommend two because these are local and, although they too offer internet outlets for every kind of tackle, the big advantage they have is that you can actually call and see what you are buying in their well stocked shops; they are happy to let you test their rods by casting on the water; you can be confident that you are getting good advice and service.
